In Illinois, Medicaid is managed by the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS). Only those with a certain income can qualify – more information here.
- If you are the custodial parent of a child receiving Medicaid, you are automatically enrolled in the IV-D program (child support enforcement services)
- If you are involved in a child support case with a child covered by Medicaid, the paying parent may be ordered to make cash medical support payments
