Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is a program that provides cash benefits to pregnant mothers or parents caring for children that are under the age of 18 or full-time high school students. It is offered by the Illinois Department of Public Heath (DPH). More information on program eligibility can be found here.

Some things to know about TANF:
If you are both the custodial parent of a minor child and a TANF recipient, you are automatically enrolled in the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) IV-D program, otherwise known as child support enforcement services
If eligible, TANF recipients will also receive LINK/SNAP benefits
